County: Garissa, Tana River

Founded in Kenya in 2008, PGI works with the most vulnerable members of the community to empower them to champion their own rights. The organisation focuses on pastoral girl children and women, and aims to reduce gender disparity, extreme poverty, poor health and gender-based violence.

PGI hopes to fill in the gap in championing the plight of pastoralist women and girls especially in areas of education, food security, human rights, property ownership and economic empowerment.

The organisation believes that sustainable community development can only be achieved if marginalized persons are involved in the community dialogue.
