Our policy papers present well-researched positions that guide decision-makers toward inclusive, effective, and accountable humanitarian and development policies.
The ASAL Humanitarian Network develops and shares policy papers that reflect the collective voice of its member organizations. These papers draw on field evidence, technical expertise, and collaborative analysis to propose solutions that address the unique challenges faced by communities in Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands. Each document is designed to influence policy processes and ensure that local perspectives inform legislative and programmatic decisions.
Policymakers, development partners, and humanitarian actors use these papers to engage with credible, context-specific recommendations. The positions outlined support reforms that strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and protect the rights of ASAL communities. Through its policy work, AHN amplifies member priorities, builds consensus among stakeholders, and fosters a more responsive policy environment for the region.
