ASAL Humanitarian Network – County-Level Humanitarian Targeting
Mapping Household Coverage for Multi-Purpose Cash Transfers in Turkana County
Humanitarian Atlas – February 2022
This county-level humanitarian atlas, produced by MapAction in collaboration with the ASAL Humanitarian Network (AHN), visualizes the distribution of targeted households and villages in Turkana County as part of the multi-purpose cash transfer (MPCT) drought response launched in November 2021.
The map displays household targeting by ward, ranging from 30–100, 100–200, 200–300, to 300–500 households, with a total of 631 households mapped for Turkana County. It identifies targeted villages and shows settlement locations, roads, and administrative boundaries to support operational coordination and ensure equitable geographic coverage.
Data sources include IEBC, GADM, and OpenStreetMap datasets, combined with AHN partner field inputs. The atlas was produced with support from the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO) to strengthen geographic accountability, visibility, and coordination in Kenya’s ASAL humanitarian cash programming
