The objective under this focus area is to develop and enhance innovatie ideas and practices that promote community resilience and recovery through livelihood diversification, environment and natural resource management, and climate change adaptation.

WASH – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

This component focuses on improved access to safe, adequate water for domestic use in the target areas and the critical inclusive WASH for the prevention of waterborne diseases in households.

Of important focus is preventive and curative operations and maintenance to address urgent WASH needs and this includes:

1. The rehabilitation of water systems, solarization of boreholes
2. Creating of awareness on public health risks using volunteer Community Health Workers to educate the community members on household hygiene 
3. Provision of ‘e-vouchers’ to enable households to access water
4. Provision of water storage facilities and hygiene kits through local traders
